Шутливое название ломаного английского, на котором часто говорят иностранцы, а также ошибок, сделанных самими англичанами. Это выражение произошло от названия португальско-английского разговорника, составленного неким португальцем А. В. Туэром в конце XIX в. Книжка стала мишенью для многих шуток вследствие неудачного использования английской фразеологии. Например, даже само название должно было бы звучать, как English as it is spoken. Сам автор не говорил по-английски, хотя знал французский. Он произвёл на свет своё детище, пользуясь португальско-французским и французско-английским словарями.Kurt speaks very broken English.
